Contained herein is a digital library of books from our personal collection. This library has as its primary focus mystery novels among which the largest component is detective fiction.
The library is not a survey of every author who might, depending on definition, be categorized as a mystery writer or author of detective fiction. The included authors are of our experience and collection. In addition, this digital library is not a complete listing or presentation of all of the works of those authors who ARE included.
The reading room also contains a brief survey of the television adaptations of many of the books/series in the library.
"This is the excellent foppery of the world, that, when we are sick in fortune, often the surfeit of our own behaviour, we make guilty of our disasters the sun, the moon, and the stars; as if we were villains by necessity, fools by heavenly compulsion, knaves, thieves, and treachers by spherical predominance, drunkards, liars, and adulterers by an enforced obedience of planetary influence; and all that we are evil in, by a divine thrusting on: an admirable evasion of whore-master man, to lay his goatish disposition to the charge of a star!"
Shakespeare, King Lear (Edmund) Act I, scene ii
